Many in Jesus day were expecting that a king would come and help the Jews conquer their enemy (the Romans). The Zealots were ready to go to war and they were simply waiting for a leader. They were hoping that Jesus was that leader. However, Jesus came not to take on "flesh and blood" as He reminds us in His Word, but rather the principalities of darkness. Jesus used the power of love, forgiveness, grace, sacrifice and peace to conquer sin and death and Satan himself, who is the real enemy. Jesus wore "shoes of peace" as He walked this earth.

We begin a new series today entitiled "Armor Up'. Over the next few weeks, Pastor Josh will be sharing some insight on the Armor of God and the "tools and weapons" that God has given us to ward off the enemy. Today's message, "The Belt of Truth", reminds us that the Bible holds all truth and that Satan has no power over us when we know and claim what the Word of God says. We can combat Satan's lies by simply claiming the truth within God's Word. The more we know God's Truth, the more we recognize the deception of the devil. "Armor Up" everyone and listen in on "The Belt of Truth"!

"Believer", or "pretender". Which one are we? Do we truly believe that Jesus is our Savior, or do we pretend that He is Lord of our lives by simply saying and doing the right things in others' eyes. Have we truly been transformed by God, or is God more of a convenience? Pastor Josh challenges us to be careful about only focusing on looking good by trying to do the right things and forgetting that God wants to tranform us to be more like Him. When we truly seek God and desire to know Him more each day, our focus will be on His will for our lives, not our own or someone else's. Let's now listen to "I'm a Believer".

Do you ever feel like God doesn't hear you, or that He has somehow abandoned you? You get up each day and have the same routine, wondering if there is more to life than what you are experiencing. You want to make a difference, but seem to be getting nowhere. That may have been the feeling the shepherds were experiencing in Jesus' day, just before the angel appeared to THEM and shared with THEM the Good News. What an honor that must have been. Just when it might seem that nothing will change in our lives, God shows up unexpectedly and reminds us how much He loves us and cares about us. More often than not, we miss it because we are simply not looking for it. Pastor Josh reminds us that we are "Not Forgotten".

What do we really put our trust in when push comes to shove? Do we put our trust in money, our jobs, circumstances, ourselves, or do we live out life with little to no direction? What if we had a road map of life that took us on an exciting and rewarding journey? And what if we had someone leading us that we could trust with our very lives? The answer of course is "'Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus". As we begin a new Christmas series this week, Pastor Josh will be challenging us to put our full trust in Jesus. No matter the circumstances, or the temptatiions surrounding us, God can direct our paths in a way that will lead us to a life of joy if we fully trust Him - "The Journey".

"I don't work for the church, so why do I need to worry about ministry? I'm not a missionary, or in a Christian ministry, so why should I have to be responsible for doing that?" Jesus has called ALL of us in to the ministry. We don't have to have the title of "minister" to do God's work. In fact, more often than not, people see the genuineness of God's love in the every day life of a transformed person. This alone can speak volumes. Listen in on some of Pastor Josh's thoughts on "How to Live Your Life as Ministry".

Have we grown complacent about life to the point that we have become ineffective as followers of Christ? Do we need change in our lives to further His Kingdom? Change is difficult, but sometimes life surprises us when we least expect it. Sometimes those changes are welcomed, but other times those changes come with either a high price, or some kind of suffering. Pastor Josh encourages us to embrace change and to allow God to change us to be more like Him every day - "How to Deal with Change".
